Orlando Combo first formed in 1996 when the members met at the Victorian College of the Arts whilst completing a BA in music performance. The Combo soon became a regular fixture on the Melbourne Jazz scene while also performing at major Australian ski resorts (Mt.Buller, Thredbo, Mt.Hotham), the Spring racing carnival (Melbourne Cup, Cox Plate, Derby and Oaks days) and completing a six month contract at The Hotel Sofitel, Vietnam.

Through experience Orlando Combo has become one of Melbourne's best working bands, offering professionalism and reliability. Public venues in Melbourne have included, The Night Cat, Manchester Lane and Dizzy's Jazz Club along with private functions at The Melbourne Club, Crown, Nine Darling Street, Regent Theatre Ballroom, Grand Hyatt, Park Hyatt and Rialto Observation Deck. Clients include Telstra, Ericsson, Holden, IBM and Loreal. The group also specializes in performing at weddings.

The Combo consists of guitar, double bass and drums and on request can be augmented with a guest saxophonist or our male vocalist/trumpeter.
The genre is Jazz but more specifically the sound is a blend of Swing/Blues/Latin and Funk. The group takes its inspiration and repertoire from performers such as Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Dave Brubeck, George Benson and Louis Armstrong.

The group takes up minimal space and is discreet with equipment, being fully aware of the visual importance of wedding and corporate function work. Dress is lounge suit unless otherwise indicated.

Having played at the races and various functions in Melbourne's parks and gardens the band is able to play without a power supply if requested. The Combo also travels to the Peninsulas and rural Victoria for performances.
